

Connecting Adults (age 55+) to Interactive Experiences
Social isolation and loneliness are critical risk factors affecting an individual’s physical and mental health that can lead to premature death. Social interaction improves health and recovery from illness. This is a great way to meet new people who share your interests and learn new skills especially as we retire. To help reduce social isolation and loneliness of older adults engaging them in curated classes held remotely via phone, internet, or in-person at community based “Pop-Up” sites.
Funded by the Cleveland Foundation and McGregor Foundation and supported by AmeriCorps, all are deeply committed to ensuring our aging population has opportunities.
Digital tech training and support is offered at “Pop-Up” sites weekly to assist and support Individuals to reduce anxiety and strengthen digital skills learning new apps and techniques to keep connected. IConnect tech classes are provided at Cleveland Resource & Recreation Centers (Collinwood, Fredrick Douglas, Kovacic) and selected senior apartment complexes, centers and scheduled health fairs. It is fun and convenient!
Offerings are varied and diverse to meet participants’ unique interests with over 40 classes held weekly (Sun-Sat) in morning, afternoon, evening, and late nights.
