Community Connector Corps
NCA’s Community Connector Corps works to connect neighborhood residents with technology, education, and vital support to promote healthy futures for all.
Funded by AmeriCorps Serve Ohio NCA’s CCC comprises diverse individuals representing a variety of backgrounds, racial/ethnic, socio/economic, education, gender diversity and age (from 21 to 73). Some are college students, graduates or retirees with expertise to share, or they want to develop new skills to change careers and/or start businesses. Some work in full-time careers but want to help address social issues of interest to them.
AmeriCorps Members can serve in full or part time positions working with youth in P4SS out-of-school time programs or engage older adults in IConnect services. Some serve at community-based partner sites America SCORES Cleveland, The Cleveland Playhouse, Jones Road Family Development, Lake Erie Ink, Lexington-Bell Community Center, Minds Matter and Promise Academy.
CCC Members have included a physician sharing her medical expertise for healthy living, a retired policeman offering safety information and tips, college graduates dedicated to helping youth strengthen academic skills and engage in learning. One Member, a Cleveland State University professor, shares her passion of gardening, travel, and former military personnel getting connected to IConnect.
